[00:15] 第一次世界大戰怎麼發生的?
歐洲國家的邊境都是接壤著，土地都是相接的，所以在第一次世界大戰發生，歐洲各個國家就已經出現了很多矛盾。1299年到1923年之間，土耳其這有個國家叫”鄂圖曼土耳其帝國“，這個國家民族多，一直有內亂。有次奧匈帝國 (現在奧地利和匈牙利這個地方) 趁亂佔領了鄂圖曼土耳其帝國的一塊土地”波士尼亞“，但這塊地上大多是塞爾維亞人，塞爾維亞人本來也想趁鄂圖曼土耳其帝國有內亂時佔領這塊地，但卻被奧匈帝國先佔領了，因此塞爾維亞人對奧匈帝國非常生氣。

1914年的6月，有個塞爾維亞的年輕人在波士尼亞這個地方殺死了奧匈帝國的皇儲，奧匈帝國要求塞爾維亞要把這個年輕人交給他們懲罰，但塞爾維亞不要，因此1914年7月時奧匈帝國向塞爾維亞宣戰，這就是第一次世界大戰最主要的導火線。

塞爾維亞和奧匈帝國開始打仗後，當時的俄羅斯帝國因跟塞爾維亞關係好，決定要幫忙塞爾維亞。然而另一方面奧匈帝國跟德國關係好，因此當俄羅斯帝國開始幫忙塞爾維亞時，德國就決定跟俄羅斯帝國宣戰。
德國害怕他們跟俄羅斯帝國打時，法國有可能會幫忙俄羅斯，因此德國同時也向法國宣戰，並且先占領了比利時，再從比利時去進入法國。後來英國也決定要參戰，來幫忙法國和比利時。

參戰 cān zhàn – to participate in a war
當時非常緊張，每個國家都有亡國的風險，所以都動用所有的人民來準備打仗。然而打了很久卻一直沒分出勝負，連本來是中立國的美國，後來也決定要參加這場戰爭。
打了很久後，很多國家的人民覺得國內的糧食不夠，又一直發生內戰，因此到1918年時，德國決定求和，結束第一次世界大戰。

分出勝負 fēn chū shèng fù – to determine the winner and loser; to decide the outcome
