[00:15] 台灣有哪些原住民?
台灣的原住民有16族，每個族群都有自己的文化、語言甚至是節慶。台灣有16種不同的原住民族群，人口最多的原住民是阿美族、排灣族、泰雅族和布農族，且主要分布在台灣的東部和中間的山區。
族 zú – ethnicity or clan
族群 zú qún – ethnic group
節慶 jié qìng – festival or celebration
阿美族 Āměi zú – Amis tribe
排灣族 Páiwān zú – Paiwan tribe
泰雅族 Tàiyǎ zú – Atayal tribe
布農族 Bùnóng zú – Bunun tribe
分布 fēn bù – distribution or spread

一萬年以前，台灣和大陸是相接的，而台灣和中國的土地分開後，這些原住民就繼續住在台灣。到了16、17世紀時，越來越多漢人從中國來到台灣，漢人到台灣時，為了要有比較大的土地和比較大的生活空間，決定在有肥沃平原的西部生活，並且把原住民趕到台灣的山區和東部。
相接 xiāng jiē – adjoin or connect
世紀 shì jì – century
漢人 Hàn rén – Han Chinese people
肥沃 féi wò – fertile
平原 píng yuán – plain or flatland
趕 gǎn – drive away or expel

因為太多漢人來到了台灣，現在原住民相對來說算滿少的。因此我們必須老實告訴你們，我們對原住民的生活和文化不是那麼熟悉，覺得跟原住民隔一層紗，不是很了解。以前漢人和原住民很不一樣，漢人種田，原住民打獵。此外，因原住民的信仰跟漢人的不太一樣，因此節慶也非常不一樣。
相對來說 xiāng duì lái shuō – relatively speaking
老實 lǎo shí – honest or frank
隔一層紗 gé yī céng shā – (an idiom) lit. one layer of veil apart or figuratively, a distance in understanding
種田 zhòng tián – cultivate crops or farming
打獵 dǎ liè – hunting
信仰 xìn yǎng – belief or faith
